About Us

The Group for Research on European and International Taxation comprises a network of academics specialized in EU and international tax law.


Our Founding Members

The Group was founded over 20 years ago and organizes yearly conferences on current topics in European and international taxation.

Prof. Dr. Pasquale Pistone

Prof. Dr. Pasquale Pistone is the Academic Chairman of IBFD. He holds a Jean Monnet ad personam Chair in European Tax Law and Policy at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria) and is a Full Professor of Tax Law at the University of Salerno (Italy). His main fields of expertise are European and international tax law, and he is regarded as a top academic expert in various parts of the world.

Prof. Dr. Cécile Brokelind

Professor Cécile Brokelind is the Chairwoman of the European Association of Tax Law professors. Originally active as a tax consultant in France where she received her legal education, she moved to Sweden to embrace an academic career. More recently, she also engaged in interdisciplinary studies, such as the creation of a “DIGITAX” research center in Lund with public finance and international economy scholars. She is also a program director of a master’s program in International and EU tax law at Lund University.

Prof. Dr. Ana Paula Dourado

Ana Paula Dourado is a Full Professor of Tax Law and International and European Tax Law at the University of Lisbon, Director of the Centre for Research in European, Economic, Financial and Tax Law (CIDEEFF), and the Editor-in-Chief of the Kluwer Tax Journal Intertax. She has been a visiting Professor at several European Universities, including the University of Florida, and the MoF in Taiwan. And the African Lusophone Universities. She is a founding member of the Group for Research on European and International Taxation (GREIT).
